Energy and Power Roundtable

DATE: 27th June 2018, 17:15-19:30
VENUE: Cranfield University, MK43 0AL

Cranfield University is world-leading in its contribution to global innovation with a focus on environmental technology, leadership and management, manufacturing and transport systems. Join us at this roundtable event to explore commercial collaboration opportunities with two academic experts working in clean energy.

Dr Dawid P. Hanak is a lecturer in Clean Energy. His research interests include high-efficiency low-emission power generation systems, carbon capture and storage, thermochemical conversion of biomass, negative CO2 emission systems, and application of stochastic and reliability tools to assess energy systems. His expertise is in techno-economic feasibility assessment of clean energy systems, including low-carbon power generation and CO2 capture systems, and statistical analysis of engineering data.

Dr Vinod Kumar is a Lecturer in Bioenergy and/ Biomass Systems. His research interests are sustainable production of fuels and chemicals from renewable source through microbiological route. The work involves designing of microorganisms as cell factories for overproduction of industrially important compounds using Metabolic Engineering and Synthetic Biology tools. His current research focuses on development of second generation biorefinery, connecting industrial and agricultural waste streams to valuable products. The key words describing his research are; microbial fermentations, bioprocess development, metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, industrial biotechnology and integrated biorefineries.
