Are you a practical and business-friendly environmentalist who wants to help deliver a range of exciting sustainability programmes for cities, for low carbon businesses and for new property development schemes?
Do you have excellent communication skills, a good understanding of sustainability issues and are educated to degree level in a relevant discipline? Are you well organised and thorough?
Then you could be the perfect person to join Bioregional’s growing team of sustainability experts working with private and public-sector organisations to create better places to live, work and do business.
Bioregional champions a better, more sustainable way to live.
Founded in 1994, we are a charity and social enterprise that has worked with partners in business, local government and the NGO sector on hundreds of transformative projects. Using our One Planet framework to guide our work, we have taken a place-based approach to sustainability, building up rich stories of wide ranging initiatives that help with the transition to a sustainable world.
Our aim is always to show how moving towards genuinely sustainable living can be attractive and affordable for people, communities and businesses.
You will sit within the Oxfordshire delivery team supporting several Oxfordshire based projects. You will also work more widely on advisory projects for new developments and on One Planet Cities, likely across three business areas:
One Planet Oxfordshire – supporting delivery of events, workshops and reports to build the vision for a truly sustainable county
Growing Oxfordshire’s low carbon economy - supporting the development and launch of a new network for businesses and organisations who will be delivering the low carbon future we need in Oxfordshire. Gathering evidence and stories from partners.
Sustainable new communities - supporting construction and development teams looking to build healthy, sustainable buildings and communities.
You will be line-managed by the Senior Project manager for Oxfordshire.
The role is based at our Oxfordshire office at the award winning, zero carbon Elmsbrook eco-town site in Bicester, which is 15 minutes by train from Oxford followed by a short bus or bike ride. The post is full time. It is advertised as a 1-year fixed term contract with an intention to make the post permanent. The post is 80% funded by ERDF.
Information is also found on the Bioregional website
Deadline for applications: Sunday 9th September, 6pm.
Please note: Interviews will be held on Wednesday 12th September at our Bicester office, Oxfordshire
If you are invited for interview, you will be asked to prepare a 10-minute presentation on how you have incorporated sustainability into some aspect of your life. It could be your personal life, your current employer or educational establishment or another organisation you are involved with. You might like to make reference to the One Planet Living framework or even use the oneplanet.digital platform.
