Launch of Oxfordshire Greentech
Oxfordshire Greentech off to a glittering start
Over 250 attendees from local businesses and organisations all over the county flooded through the doors at Oxford University’s Said Business School on 6 February for the highly anticipated launch held on February 6, 2019. Oxfordshire Greentech’s aim is to accelerate growth by bringing like-minded entrepreneurs and innovators together and create a space for unprecedented levels of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-transfer.
Against the backdrop of a foyer buzzing with exhibitors, speakers and delegates, attendees had the chance to network with their peers and hear from influential speakers on topics ranging from the urgency of climate action post last year’s IPCC report, to the strength of the Greentech cluster in Oxfordshire. A full agenda of the morning can be found here.
Highlights included presentations from Gareth Dinnage, MD of the award-winning environmentally conscious printing company Seacourt; Dave Beesley, CEO of Oxford Office Furniture, who showcased his fleet of electric vehicles on the plaza outside; and Phil Shadbolt, Chairman of Zeta Lighting, revealing an innovative solar tile his company has been working on.
There is huge appetite in Oxfordshire for this network: according to a 2014 report by Oxford University Environmental Change Institute and Low Carbon Oxford, with adequate support and initiative, Oxfordshire has the potential to become a leader in the global low-carbon economy.
