Cambridgeshire County Council has made a donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) to workers on the NHS frontline in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

Together with Peterborough City Council, they have provided PPE including visors and thousands of protective masks to hospitals in Cambridge and Peterborough, with the contributions coming from entirely different sources.

 

 

Cllr Steve Count, the leader of Cambridgeshire County Council, has been working for the past few years to build links between foreign investors in China and businesses in the county and, as a result, a further 12,000 masks are being donated from China this week.

Cllr Count and council chief executive Gillian Beasley have worked closely with Cambridge Cleantech’s Martin Garrett and UK Cambridge Education Centre’s Dr Chenguang Sun to develop a strategic agreement.
