Meet our Investors in Residence
Pippa Gawley, Zero Carbon Capital
Pippa is the co-founder of Zero Carbon Capital, home of an EIS fund investing in early-stage companies on a mission to fix climate change. ZCC supports deep science, hard-tech solutions that have the potential to make half gigaton-level reductions of CO2e at scale; and vision-aligned, ambitious teams to go with them. Pippa started angel investing in decarbonisation technologies in California five years ago, where she was an active member of the impact investing ecosystem. She holds a Masters degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
Jim Totty, Earth Capital
Jim is Managing Partner at Earth Capital, an investment company who back sustainable businesses and innovative management teams with active support and long term investment.
Jim has 25 years’ experience in sustainable and clean technology, including 16 years’ private equity. He invests in sustainable businesses in technology, services and manufacturing, renewable energy, energy efficiency and water. STIL manages family office capital, institutional funds, and high net-worth investments through private equity funds.
Martin Bloom, Emblem Ventures
Martin is CEO of Emblem Ventures (a family office established in 1956) and an LP and Member of the Advisory Board of Seraphim Space Fund.
Martin helps build the high growth companies of tomorrow to assist them in creating and driving forward their strategies, assisting private and public-listed companies that have high growth potential, mentoring senior management and entrepreneurs. Martin has a special skill in deconstructing business models to make them more scaleable by eliminating obstacles to rapid growth.
Martin is a Director (and previously Chairman for almost 10 years) of the Chinese solar company Renesola (listed on the New York Stock Exchange and building annual revenues of over $1 billion within 6 years). He was also Group CEO of Intelligent Energy, refocusing its commercial strategy and stabilising its position.
Helen Lin, At One Ventures
At One Ventures is a venture capital firm investing in a world where humanity is a net positive to nature. We seek innovative technologies that can upend the traditional industries contributing to climate change: Food & Agriculture, Manufacturing, Energy, Transportation, and Buildings & Construction. Within these sectors, we focus on seed and Series A stage companies with a technology breakthrough demonstrated by disruptive unit economics, commercially and environmentally.
